COCC Prioritizes Public and Rural Health

With the start of classes in 2025, Central Oregon Community College has prioritized offering Public Health courses every term on the Madras, Prineville, and Redmond campuses, in addition to our scheduled classes on the Bend campus. This renewed focus ensures that all students have access to these foundational Public Health courses no matter where they live.

Highlighting that, Public Health Is For Everyone”, this new campaign highlights how the PHE100–Introduction to Public Health Course meets academic requirements for health or social sciences students, continuing education requirements for several health-related credentials, gives students a look at other career options in healthcare, and provides a way for students to make a direct impact in their community. No matter what your career or educational goals are, the Introduction to Public Health Course is a great way to start that journey.

Deschutes County, in conjunction with  Comagine Health, is conducting a survey

to better understand the priority of substance use-related services to be implemented or expanded in the community. This survey is part of a more extensive assessment to determine gaps and needs related to substance use services in the community to invest in opioid settlement funds in the future potentially. This particular survey aims to better understand which substance use strategies should be prioritized in Deschutes County.

You are specifically being contacted to take part in a survey because you or your organization have been identified as someone with in-depth knowledge of substance use-related service needs in the community. Your  responses will not be shared  with anyone outside the Comagine Health Research and Evaluation Team. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete, and we ask that you share it with others in your network who have valuable insight. Please see the attached document for more thorough information. You may contact me Comagine Health with questions related to the survey or assessment!
