Re-entry Best Practices Workshop
“Anxiety, fear, and uncertainty” are common adjectives when asked how a prisoner feels about re-entry. This volatile time includes many obstacles and barriers for citizens returning from prison, and successfully navigating these challenges requires one to have a healthy support system.
Changing Patterns is a Central Oregon nonprofit organization with a mission to assist returning citizens to successfully navigate the barriers and obstacles of re-entry. They provide a Peer Support Re-entry Program where clients are paired with certified peer support specialists who walk with them through early re-entry.
On August 22nd and 23rd, Changing Patterns will be hosting a Re-entry Best Practices Workshop for Oregon Health Authority staff and certified behavioral health specialists who work with people during the re-entry process. This workshop will highlight the importance of making a personal commitment to a healthy goal, managing habits, establishing a routine lifestyle, and utilizing a support system all while securing essential resources needed to live productively in the community.
There is limited space. The workshop is funded through grant money, so there are no costs to participants except travel and accommodation. Breakfast and lunch will be provided along with optional activities (weather dependent).
